How to work out your hourly rate
To work out an hourly rate, turn your pay into a yearly figure, then divide by the hours you work in a year. Annual salary ÷ 52 weeks gives your weekly pay, and dividing that by your weekly hours gives the rate. So £50,000 over a 37.5-hour week works out at about £25.64 an hour.
Enter your salary however it's quoted, per year, month, fortnight, or week, and the calculator converts it for you, then shows the hourly rate alongside your daily, weekly, and monthly pay. The daily rate assumes a five-day work week.
These figures are gross, before income tax, National Insurance, and any pension, so what you see is the pay rate, not the take-home. This is general information, not financial advice.
